I began offering fertility massage in March of 2012, and was witness to my case study client getting pregnant. And her profound statement that makes me smile, went something like; ”How is that possible? I’m pregnant!”
Reading the November 2011 Massage Magazine article on fertility massage, I knew whom I was taking my next course from. I learned from the best teacher, Claire Marie Miller, a thirty plus year veteran of American Massage Therapist Association. Ms. Miller created a specific fertility massage protocol, with a course title of, Nurturing the Mother Fertility Massage. Ms. Miller has been interviewed on the Massage Nerd for her teaching of fertility massage, pregnancy massage, and reflexology.
This specific fertility massage protocol combines the best techniques of:
CranioSacral Therapy
Castor Oil Packs
Abdominal Massage
Reflexology
Acupressure Points
Meridian Massage
Positive Benefits of Fertility Massage:
Cleanse the digestive system
Release pelvic adhesions and congestion
Increase circulation throughout the pelvis
Reduce stress
Increase relaxation
Strengthen internal reproductive organs
Decrease uterine fibroids
Promote a regular menstrual cycle
Balance hormones
Decrease the pain of endometriosis
Resolve blocked fallopian tubes
Treat cases of PCOS
Help reposition a tilted uterus
Release blood stasis from uterus
Help detoxification
Strengthen immune system
Increase fertility awareness
This massage does not replace any other medical support that is ongoing, however it will enhance the potential to optimize fertility. Making changes to your diet and activities and environment will support a holistic approach to fertility. A list of resources includes books to read and the answer to this important question. Did you know there is more than one time each cycle that you can potentially get pregnant?
Massage will help you relax, reducing stress. I have often talked to clients about, “wanting to start the fertility massage sessions", while they are experiencing a relaxation massage with me. My experience often sees the client becoming pregnant before we get to start the fertility massage sessions. I think having more information on detoxing before pregnancy, nutrition, meditation and visualization, exercise, and fertility awareness can be supportive and relax the clients. And knowing that there is a technique of massage that may be helpful as well is calming.
Four fertility specific massage dates will be scheduled to your own monthly cycle.
There are massage techniques that I will teach you to practise at home that will support a holistic change to your body. The massage treatment plan we will follow will help you create an optimum environment for conception. This is about you and your fertility. I will support you to learn and discover more about yourself and what will help your body to conceive.
