Inflammation Fighter
Immune System Booster
Reminder: Turmeric needs two things for best absorption into the body; a healthy fat like coconut oil and black pepper.
Reminder No.1: Stir and sip, stir and sip to consume all the spices. Stir and sip.
And then one day I was sitting down to eat some oatmeal that I was putting raisins, coconut oil, honey and cinnamon into. The turmeric tea bag was sitting there and I started thinking what if, which turned into, I added one teaspoon of the tea spices to the oatmeal.
The oatmeal I now make for myself every day has one teaspoon of tea spices and two teaspoons of turmeric, coconut oil, honey and sunflower seeds, poppy seeds, and coconut flakes.
Having consumed the spices daily for three months I can now say how my body has responded and how I have changed how I take it. I drink one cup in the morning with two extra teaspoons of turmeric in the cup, one teaspoon of honey and one large teaspoon of coconut oil.
I have noticed the inflammation in my body is consistently under control.
The other best thing that I noticed happening with the turmeric spice tea is how it has helped my immune system.
This may be one of the worst cold and flu seasons we have had with the coldest and driest air of winter that carries the germs and virus straight to everyones next inhalation.
I did have one morning that I woke up with the intense pain of a flu bug stirring in the stomach. I made the turmeric concoction and as I drank it I noticed my stomach calming down. I'm not too sure how long it really took, but ten minutes later I noticed the pain was gone and I was on to drinking the lemongrass tea that I also consume in the mornings as well.
I have had days where I feel like I might be fighting something. The what-ever-it-is never developed into something more noticeable than a grumpy old woman with a small amount of phlegm or minor sinus draining.
I have been asked how much is too much turmeric to consume in a day. Doing a little further research and the answer is 8 teaspoons of the dry spice would be too much. With turmeric's ability to lower blood pressure I can see how there would be limits.
Be Healthy. Stay Healthy. Massage.
