You may have heard or read the idea of just taking 10 minutes and be mindful which really means to just be present in this moment. Be here now and see the leaves looking like they are vibrating in the wind, notice the bird song in the air. Be a relaxed, focused and balanced mind. For an easy and a great visual illustration of meditation watch this TED talk with juggling by Andy Puddicombe. Step back and get a different perspective. Change how you experience life with ten minutes
Guided in a group. It's been many years since I have done a group session. What I remember and like about being in a group is knowing that we all are starting from the same place. Often having rushed and now feeling hurried to get to the group. First step when entering a group meditation is to take a deep cleansing breath or three. Shake off the day and drop the worries and to-do's in a box to pickup later. Breathe now and relax the body and the mind while we listen to the voice of the guide sitting amongst us. Let the mind have permission to be relaxed and unbound as the inner visual journey to peace and calm unfolds.
Guided and alone. The peace of sitting or laying in your favourite space while listening and following the direction of the voice. This can be so comfortable that I fall asleep, and well that's ok. And that nap is often the best nap ever. There are many many guides available on you tube or on websites or apps. Guided meditations I have repeatedly listened to are done by Kelly Howell or Deepak Chopra or Louise Hay or Wayne Dyer.

My first meditation practice was silent and alone. I liked reading a meditation and then sitting in a relaxed supported position and going over it again (or most of what I could remember. The parts that stood out (remembered from the reading) to me always had the most impact). Having made that connection, if only for a moment, to the silence within, worked for me to express the gratitude so necessary to continue the peace within.
This TED Talk "How Meditation Can Reshape Our Brains" by Sara Lazar mentions the positive change to the body of slowing aging, improving memory, while decreasing stress and increasing the brain matter.

Music is peaceful, calming, transporting and often hypnotic. Music is a personal choice. For me music is a sound therapy that needs to occur daily. At the clinic I choice the music we listen to based on the type of therapy we are doing or what mood we are in. Same choices are made for the music I use during my daily meditations. Sound therapy experiences I have had and links to some sound therapy music at
