I really wanted to tell you about something new to me that I have found. The brown ginger patch that is three times larger and it feels warm to hot and tingly. I like the larger patch for the surface area when there is a large muscle that needs more coverage, like the quad.
A few guidelines for using a patch.
- Do not stretch the patch when you put it on.
- Place it gently to the skin and press gently without stretching the patch.
- Leave it on for twelve hours. I did try a patch on the same quad for two days and was very impressed with the anti inflammatory properties and the warmth of the ginger.
- Do not sweat with the patch on or the adhesive will release.
The adhesive is gentle.
I do have a problem with adhesives from a standard bandaid. I give a bandaid two days tops to heal what needs healing and then it is gone. The itch is too much to take.
Salonpas hit a tipping point many years ago in popularity so that you can find them almost everywhere from grocery store to big box store to pharmacy counter.
Ginger patches may be newer to North America so they can not be found as of yet at the corner store. I could not find any in town here. Maybe in a year or two. Ordering online does take two weeks for shipping on Amazon direct from China.
Eileen has tried the patch for her serious arthritis of the spine. It is working to keep the pain from inflammation under control. We find the best spot on the back is above the sacrum in the lower back. We did try one patch to inflammation of an ankle. The one patch kept both feet feeling warm.
So nice to find something that is not a pharmaceutical pill for pain from the inflammation of arthritis.
We strongly agree the ginger patches are our new favourite pain patch.
