The Calgary Rock and Lapidary Club is having their 57th annual show. A favourite annual rock hound event held the first weekend of May 5-7. This years theme is "crystals"

Admission is easy at $7 for adults and $3 for seniors and students with ID. Important Reminder: 1. Bring a sturdy bag. 2. Bring cash. And lots of it. There are few venders that have wireless debit and credit. 

The venue is VIVO For Healthy Generations - East Arena, 11950 Country Village NE Calgary. The west parking lot is small. I wouldn't even try to look for a spot there. The east side gets crowded by noon. There is a large parking lot across the street (North).

I have noticed that in the past the vendors are from various parts of Alberta and BC with stones from around the world. The stones being shown for purchase are a wide range of strings for beading, finished jewellery, loose small and large palm stones, carved, tumbled or natural. You will find stones in every price range. I expect you will find something (or many somethings) that connects with you and wants to come home to be in your collection. Reminder: When you get your stones home, clean and clear your stones from everyone else handling it.

I am always surprised at what I find each year. I think I have seen it all and then. What's this?  My - precious? I should take this home for my collection.

1. Cancer killing lemongrass, is found in most lemon teas (do read the fine print of ingredients on the tea box). 2. Holy Basil (also known as tulsi) is found in another of my favourite teas, Stash Mellow Moments and Stash Lavender Tulsi. Tulsi is an antioxidant, fighter of cancer and neuropathy healer (slowing the degeneration of nerves. Makes me think that maybe tulsi, along with the lemongrass, would also be great for multiple sclerosis). 3. Ayurvedic treatment for breast cancer (also good for blood and liver cancer) is a herbal tea of fagonia cretica, better known as virgin's mantle, will kill cancer cells without harming healthy cells. The articles I found also discussed drinking the tea as a long term activity of six months plus (you could drink it indefinitely to be proactive and remain in remission). And drinking the tea in support of the chemotherapy treatments with the nice side effect being you get to keep your hair. Fagonia cretica tea is only grown in areas of Pakistan, India, Africa and parts of Europe.

Asmi Ayurveda Consultancy and Herbals company does have a distribution centre in Colorado that will ship to Canada. 4. Essiac tea has been a known cure produced here in Canada since 1920. The wonderful thing about this tea is it is available almost everywhere now. Only buy the essiac tea that is produced in Canada, be cautious of imitators and brew it your self for the best results. The recipe must have the sheep sorrel roots in it to be truly effective. G has tried the capsules, the extract and has brewed the tea herself. She finds the tea gives the best results.

You may have heard of the story of Billy Best, a teenager who ran away from chemotherapy and beat cancer naturally in 1994 at the age of sixteen with Essiac tea and Gaston Naessens' 714x injections in Quebec. 

Di Georgiou has a more recent story of breast cancer (this is truly a must see site, amazing information with video and pictures) healed with the support of essiac tea and black salve. Nota bene: Only the Alpha Omega Labs produce the true formula for black salve that works. They have a Fake Product Compensation program if you buy the wrong stuff. I find it reassuring when there is a warning to watch for imitators.

Drinking two or three cups of tea a day is a simple tasty therapeutic way to support whole body health. When I feel a sore throat coming on I drink the lemon ginger hourly until I feel better. I give Meyer lemon to my son hourly until he is better. He finds ginger to be overly spicy. I almost always combine spearmint, tulsi and lemongrass in one cup for my tea time at morning, noon, and night.

I have been asked a few times now about the diffuser/humidifier in my clinic room. I have had it so long now I don't remember where it came from. 

I use it to add a bit more humidity and wonderful calming, pain reducing aroma of peppermint, lavender and sweet orange.  Now when people are rolling over in the linens there are no sparks going off and I am not shocking people from the static in the air. Yes, it can get seriously dry here. 

I have done a little searching online and found it. The Lagut LG-T06 turns the seven colours of the rainbow and is enjoyed by children and most adults. This model can be set to run for 90, 60 or 30 minutes. The light does not have to be on, or you can use it just as a night light only without the humidifier running. A nice calming blend if you are not a fan of lavender is patchouli, tangerine, sweet orange and ylang ylang.

Where do I buy essential oils? When I can't find what I need in town I often buy essential oils from well.ca and kiaroma.ca

A neat trick to stop snoring or when you have difficulty going to sleep. Place one drop of lavender on a cotton swab. Swab the interior of the nostrils. The first time I read about this idea and tried it I was surprised at the most amazing night I had. I would suggest not swabbing every night. I have also tried the lavender swab at 2 am when I have woke up in the night and it worked to help me go back to sleep.
