Massage is not regulated in Alberta. A regulatory colleges exists in British Columbia, Ontario, and Newfoundland and Labrador. For a college to exist here in Alberta the different associations would be dissolved into one. Unity on common ground. The process to have a college for Alberta began in 2004. My optimism says that one day we will be united health care professionals and therapeutic massage therapists.

Earlier this year in May 2013, the eight therapists of Drumheller got together for coffee and a group picture. A celebration of massage in Drumheller. With so few therapists working in town this year I like that we know each other. I have no feeling of competition, the feeling is of the unity of colleagues.
What keeps our schedules full are referrals from people that like what we do. People either like you or they don't. There are many people that see all of us. Massage is a very personal experience for the client. It is a privileged experience for the therapist to have the trust and agreement with an individual to touch and support their healing experience.
Be Healthy. Stay Healthy. Massage.
