My favorite part of an infant and child massage is the playful stretches. My favorite stretch rhyme being; “How big is baby (arms down next to body), So big (arms move up with hands over baby’s head).” Even today, I have lovingly commented, “how big is baby” as my teenage son has grown taller than myself now.
I enjoy meeting the babies, meeting the caring parent(s), and the sharing of the information and ideas that is best suited for each babies' needs.
Parents that I see usually have similar comments and questions. What type of pressure should I use, is there a direction I should work in, what order do I work the sections of the body, how much time, how many times, and what about when (s)he is crying.
The instruction time we have together will give you the confidence to know you are doing the right thing and teach you the healthy touch of massage for your child.
A one on one infant massage class is a nice gift for new parents. When you buy this class as a gift you would be able to get the book and the oil and wrap it with the gift certificate. Or let the parents pick up the book and oil when they come for the class.
