Hang Therapy Is Childs Play
The main idea is to allow a stretch to the shoulder by having an easy grip with hands on the bar with your feet on the ground and then just relax into the hang.
The first time I tried this I tried to witness every change and sensation that was happening. I certainly could feel the pathway of the latissimus dorsi muscle as it pulls from the back to the arm attachment and probably that pulling sensation was also coming from the teres major muscle.

If you do try this be careful and go slow. Listen to your body. Its been awhile since we have been an age and a weight that we could just swing and hang from the monkey bars with ease.
Five minutes a day and in a month there should be a difference to the tight painful shoulder.
